San Tan Sleep Solutions is one of the few sleep labs in the country that uses wireless sleep equipment. Our Sleep Solutions study is performed to find the cause of and provide treatment for sleep apnea. Which is a potentially serious sleep disorder in which breathing repeatedly stops and starts while sleeping. With our state-of-the-art sleep Somnomedics® Polysomnography equipment our patients can move around freely while screening. Our machine also can test blood pressure and find a correlation between blood pressure and sleep related events via the Pulse Transmit Time (PTT) without cuffing the arm which aids in providing an undisturbed sleep during the study. This is important because we strive to have patients experience a comfortable overnight stay while testing for sleep apnea.
Our Sleep Solutions has two different tests: one home study and one overnight study.
The first test is the Home Sleep Study which is an apnea test that is a simplified breathing monitor that tracks breathing, oxygen levels and the effort of breathing while worn.
The second test is the Nocturnal Polysomnography which is the overnight sleep study. This test is more thorough with its findings and monitors more extensive signals like brainwaves, muscle tone, leg movements along with breathing, oxygen levels and effort of breathing. This test is better for people with certain heart, breathing, or neuromuscular problems.
